At Augmenting Workplaces, our commitment to providing a safe and healthy workplace extends to all individuals involved in our business, including contractors and suppliers. We believe that fostering a secure environment enables everyone to effectively contribute to achieving community and business outcomes.

We define a “worker” as any person who carries out work for Augmenting Workplaces, including employees, contractors, sub-contractors, labor hire company employees, apprentices, trainees, students gaining work experience, outworkers, and volunteers. All workers hold a legal responsibility to act safely and promptly report any risks or accidents they encounter.

Our work health and safety principles encompass the following:

  1. Ensuring the workforce possesses the knowledge and skills to fulfill their individual responsibilities, duties, and powers under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (WHS Act).
  2. Shared responsibility between Augmenting Workplaces and its workers in proactively identifying hazards and mitigating risks.
  3. Integrating WHS into our regular decision-making and operational activities seamlessly.

When working with Augmenting Workplaces under any contract, agreement, or documented work arrangement, you can expect the following from us:

  1. We strive to reduce the number and severity of WHS risks.
  2. We focus on enhancing the prevention of workplace injuries, illnesses, and diseases.
  3. We aim to minimize the impact of workplace injuries, illnesses, and diseases.
  4. We ensure that workers are adequately trained, supported, and motivated to identify and manage hazards and risks effectively.
  5. We work to improve and incorporate the capability to identify, eliminate, and manage hazards and risks during the design and planning stages of procurement and organizational output.

In return, we request the following from you, if you are working with Augmenting Workplaces under any contract, agreement, or documented work arrangement:

  1. Comply with your obligations under Australian work health and safety legislation and any contract-specific WHS requirements.
  2. Engage in consultation with us regarding work health and safety duties and obligations to determine how shared responsibilities will be managed.
  3. Provide information on how health and safety risks have been eliminated or mitigated in the work being undertaken for us.
  4. Adhere to the contract-specific WHS requirements for qualifications, licenses, and registration.
  5. Comply with the procedures we have implemented to protect workers’ health and safety.
  6. Report all incidents that impact the health and safety of individuals to the director via email.
  7. Provide sufficient information to enable us to monitor contract-specific WHS performance.

Additionally, if you supply goods to us, we request that you:

  1. Supply products designed and manufactured to minimize the risk of injury to people working or visiting our premises.
  2. Install or construct plant or structures in a safe manner.
  3. Provide sufficient information on the safe use, storage, and disposal of the product to eliminate or mitigate risks.

We adhere to the relevant legislative and policy framework for health, safety, and procurement activities, including the Work Health and Safety Act 2011, Work Health and Safety Regulations 2011, and Codes of Practice.
